CROSS-POLLINATION CIII - TUES JUL 11TH - 7:30-10 PM
LIZ MOORE
WES HUTCHINSON

It all began on a Thursday afternoon. Although Liz Moore's involvement with music and performing dates back many years, she first took the stage with a guitar in her hands at age eighteen, at the open mike night of the Sit'n'Bull pub in Maynard, Massachusetts. No one can remember what she played that night. Perhaps this is for the best.

Soon after, as a student at Barnard College in New York City, she began playing regularly and has since performed at various New York institutions, such as The Bitter End, Pete's Candy Store, the Knitting Factory, and The Living Room. Along the way, she has earned such honors as being selected to play with her aunt, Leslie Moore Dennis, at the Hudson River Museum as part of their "Women in Music" series; being selected as a "New Artist" at the renowned three-day GottaGetGon Festival at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa, New York, in the summer of 2004; and, in a totally unexpected turn of events, taking the stage for a song with Kathleen Edwards at the Housing Works Used Books Café in New York City.

In 2004, after more than four years cutting his teeth in the Nashville songwriting scene, Wes Hutchinson moved to New York City. Since then Wes has found considerable success having won the BMI® Songwriter's Hall of Fame Abe Olman Scholarship Recipient in 2006. (Many great up and coming writers received this award including John Legend in 2003.) As well as having his songs featured in television shows such as MTV's Laguna Beach, Fox's Boston Public, CBS' The Young and The Restless, NBC's Windfall, CBS' Clubhouse, Fox's Roswell, Fox's Party of DVD Compilation, Shreve, Crump, and Lowe commercials and more.
