THE WOWZ
THE ENVY CORPS

The WoWz are a three-piece band from New York City who combine the eternal dolor of Hank Williams Sr. with the perverse humor of David Berman and the improbable harmonies of the Beatles. They've just released their first LP, LONG GRAIN RIGHTS. The WoWz have played all over NYC generating enjoyably small amounts of confusion when they plug in. Time Out New York recently raved: "The Wowz are kind of like a coked-up youth group sing-along; the duo plays hyperchirpy, manic songs with ecstatic titles like 'Nothin' Would Be Better' and 'Happy Today.' Watch out, though - their cheery outlook (ironic or not) is contagious."

The Envy Corps hail from the small midwestern town of Ames, Iowa. However, upon listening to their debut full-length, 'Soviet Reunion,' you'd swear they were form across the sea, as their catchy, layered songs take inspiration from some of Europe's most revered songsmiths.

The Envy Corps have been compared to everything from Bjork to the Flaming Lips, Radiohead to Pedro the Lion and Sigur Ros to Neutral Milk Hotel. The Envy Corps pull from their vast musical influences to create memorable pop masterpieces, always featuring distinctive melodies, Pettipoole's haunting falsetto, infectious guitar hooks and ethereal keyboards. They have shared the stage with such national acts as Circulatory System, John Vanderslice, Appleseed Cast and the Mountain Goats.

The Envy Corps debut album, 'Soviet Reunion' was released February 3rd, 2004 and has made a splash in the indie community, reaching number 63 on the CMJ charts as well as being in rotation at over 200 stations nationwide.
