CROSS-POLLINATION CLXXII - TUES DEC 18TH - 7:30-10 PM
THE MORNING PAGES
THE LOOM

"With a style that blends indie rock, country, folk, soul and even a faint twist of earnest, ‘50s harmonies . . . the five songs on The Company You Keep leave the listener wanting more." -PopMatters.com

"The guys have all kinds of chops and are yet another example of this burgeoning roots rock taking over the Big Apple." -The Deli

"...the sound that these guys got onto tape comes from the mighty heavens. It's like American Beauty fucked Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris while cheating on The Band's version of "I Shall Be Released." -The Tripwire

"Transcending the irony-drenched streets of its Brooklyn home, The Morning Pages write exceptionally organic and emotional music that pulls at the heart strings without inducing nausea. " -American Songwriter

"If you dig Bob Dylan, Neil Young or even Willie Nelson, this band is right up your alley." -The Jersey Journal

"Fans of classic country-based rock will really dig these guys' modern pop take on the genre." -Indie Licious

"I haven't heard a lot of alt-country that I liked but I enjoyed The Morning Pages debut EP . . . The Morning Pages looks like a band to watch (and catch live). " -Brooklyn Rocks

The Loom is a new emerging NYC act that plays a sort of bucolic folk with many country elements that somehow doesn't sound like country. This is mostly due to a taste for melodies that shies away from the traditional standards in favor of a more modern and sophisticated approach to songwriting.
