CROSS-POLLINATION CLXXVI - TUES JAN 29TH - 7:30-10 PM
DOUG KEITH
CLAIR

Doug Keith has played guitar for as long as he can remember. After numerous releases as the first person to see an elephant, Doug Keith dropped the moniker and started playing under his own name. The change was more than just a name, the sound evolved greatly as well. The noise was removed and the vocals were brought to the forefront. The music now has a quiet intensity which comes through on record and live. The songwriting is stronger than it has ever been.

Clair is songwriter, piano player, singer Lindsay Sullivan & friends Brendan Boehning (guitar), Lizzie Carena (vocals), Kevin Duda (drums) & Kyle Ervin (bass).

Formed in the summer of 2005, the Brooklyn based band has been steadily building a fan base playing venues throughout NYC. Their debut album, Long Road Home, was recorded from early winter to late summer 2007 at The Fort in Bushwick, Brooklyn and is set to be released in early 2008.

Also appearing on the record is Tim Collins (drums), Mike Columbo (vocals), Ann Courtney (vocals), Ellie Everdell (vocals), Dan Loomis (bass), Jason Loughlin (lapsteel) & Deidre Rodman (vocal arrangments on Christine).

***

Collectivemusic.org declares the band is "...nothing I'd expect out of Brooklyn..."

Oh, and Jim Bentley thinks we're the chick fronted/saloon version of Pavement. Yeah, we'll totally take that.
