CROSS-POLLINATION CCII - TUES AUG 5TH - 7:30-10 PM
JEFF TAYLOR
SIR MAJESTY

"Tristate Orphans: On the strength of their debut EP,'DumpsterHunter,' world-renowned drummer Mark Guiliana (Avishai Cohen Trio, Jazz Mandolin Project) and fiery young fiddler Rob Hecht (Blue Merle, Elizabeth & The Catapult) come out swinging. At live gigs, you'll hear a set of horsefaced, odd-metered beatbreaks wrapped in blistering, 2 minute pop songs. It's all filtered through the Waits-esque howls, Byrne-like body freakouts and old-souled lyrics of their Middle School Teacher bandleader, Jeff Taylor."

Sir Majesty is an indie rock band from Miami, now based out of Brooklyn, NY. Their songs employ narrative structures: stories of alien visitations, war-time doubt, car crashes, and love. A four piece band (guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums), Sir Majesty spins these tales of the human condition through melodic rock and folk music drawing from influences like Wilco, Pedro the Lion, and the Beatles.
