CROSS-POLLINATION CCLXIX - TUES JAN 12TH - 7:30-10 PM
KYLE ERVIN
BRYAN DUNN

Hailing from Kansas, a state better known for its export of wheat than its export of art, Ervin has quickly acclimated himself to the big-city music scene. His soulful tenor voice stands out in the current singer-songwriter scene, with hints of Adam Duritz, Ryan Adams and Stevie Wonder. Delivered with a charming, straightforward stage presence, Ervin's songs are fresh with an easy bounce; filled with hooks that linger long in one's head after a single listening.

After starting out in Austin in a popular folk pop band, Bryan Dunn moved to New York and formed a rock band called Simple Thing that almost went somewhere but didn't. He then spent some time playing sideman for a couple of other local folks while working on his first solo CD, "Static & Scripture". Last year he finished second out of 500 or so songwriters in the Williamsburg Live Songwriter Competition with one of the songs from that record, released an EP which sold out its limited run, and became a minor celebrity in Delaware. He's just finished recording some new songs and will hopefully release a new CD before the end of the year.
